Gieck first started working at UVa in 1962 when the University’s student body was all male and the basketball team played its games in Memorial Gymnasium.

“It’s an honor to structure a deal with a gentleman like Joe Gieck,” Miller explained. “His character, reputation and sophistication for business are second to none.”

Miller, an award-winning journalist, who was previously a syndicated TV and radio personality, founded The Miller Organization out of his home in May, 2008 at the peak of the economic recession.

Today, The Miller Organization and its six vertically-integrated divisions (see Family Tree) have established themselves as one of the top full-service advertising and digital marketing agencies in the Mid-Atlantic.

“Charlottesville very much embodies Thomas Jefferson’s entrepreneurial spirit,” Miller said. “This Jeffersonian spirit motivates me to help other Charlottesville-based businesses. I want to help make Charlottesville an even better city for everyone to enjoy. That’s my priority.”
